“Grandpa is Blogging” is a blog that is different than any other blog I may have had. My other blogs brought you news about a specific business I may have been involved in and why you might want to be in that business with me. My mission with “Grandpa is Blogging” is geared mainly toward you and bringing you posts and stories about topics that could interest and enlighten you and even help bring you into joining in with others to help people understand what they have been through and in some instances still going through.
As you go through this blog you’ll see that part of it is geared toward “selling you stuff”. However the stuff is all about showing your support for both cancer patients and our troops still deployed. My vision is to see as many people as possible showing their support with mugs and tee shirts purchased from the store at the end.
My Cancer: How it all started and the progress thus far.
I’m sure my bout with cancer is the same as many other people, but I want to make people aware of what I have been through and am still going through. To be sure this is my journey, my stories and my trials and that’s not to say you will go through the same things but because they might prepare you through me, what may happen with you.
What is R.E.D. Friday and How Did it Get Started?
Several weeks I saw something on social media about “Red Shirt Friday”. I looked it up and found out how it got started. The original idea came from “Remember Everyone Deployed”. Being a part of R.E.D. Friday is easy: just wear red on Friday and tell your friends why! People across the country wear red every Friday to serve as a reminder and spread the message of how important it is that we keep our troops in our thoughts.
I thought it was to support out Troops. Upon further research however, I found “Red Shirt Friday” to mean support getting our Troops home safely out of harms’ way. Besides, thought that would be something worth talking about.
My Seven Years in the Air Force
I spent seven years in the Air Force and wish to talk about that. No combat or anything but I’m proud of the time I spent in the Air Force. Probably some people may be interested in hearing my stories.
If you’re interested in what I have to say, please comment. No negative stuff please.
